Exe Sailing Club’s Generous Donation

The bond between Exe Sailing Club and Exmouth RNLI has been highlighted with a generous cheque donation to Exmouth RNLI from an accumulation of two years of fundraising from a variety of functions held at Exe sailing club and as part of donating through club membership.

Exe Sailing Club have raised an amazing £1,638.00 from donations though club memberships, to holding various functions at the club to support Exmouth RNLI. Many crew volunteers are members of the sailing club, but the club upholds honorary membership for every crew volunteer, allowing a close bond to form. Dave Preston the commodore of Exe Sailing Club is proud of the close relationship between club and station, ‘ at Exe Sailing Club we have many current crew members as well as retired lifeboat crew, and all our sailing club members wholeheartedly support and respect the work the RNLI do both on and off the water.’

Dave and Stuart Hills from Exe Sailing Club came to Exmouth lifeboat station to present the cheque to coxswain Steve Hockings-Thomspon and have a guided tour of the Shannon class lifeboat, R and J Welburn, to learn about the Shannon’s capabilities.
