Our relief All Weather Lifeboat, Eric’s Legend, was launched at 10.11hrs in response to a request from HM Coastguard to help a fishing vessel with engine failure south of Sidmouth.

On arrival at the scene, it was ascertained that the fishing boat was from Torquay.  The Exmouth RNLI’s coxswain decided, after a thorough assessment of what was best and safe in the situation, that the vessel be brought under control and towed to its mooring in Torquay.  The vessel and its crew were safely delivered to their mooring and the Exmouth RNLI volunteers returned to Exmouth.  The Shannon-class was washed down and refuelled and stands ready for the next shout.  The incident concluded at 3pm.
