Saving Lives.....

Everytime we get ‘paged’, we go………

In an emergency at the coast, call 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard.

Operational Update

Our Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat, R and J Welburn (13-03), will launch on its usual Wednesday evening training exercise on 12 August. After the exercise, the lifeboat will remain on its wet mooring while a series of training exercises take place over the following few days.

During this period, the lifeboat will not be in the station. It is expected to return to the station during the early evening of Saturday 15 August.

Later in the month, on Saturday 22 August, our Shannon will be taking part in Torbay Lifeboat Station's 160th Anniversary celebrations. The lifeboat is scheduled to launch at 9.00am and will remain on the wet mooring overnight with recovery to the boat hall planned for 9.00am on Sunday 23 August.

Proudly serving Exmouth, and the wider community

When someone dials 999 and the Coastguard determines that a lifeboat is needed, they contact our station’s Launch Authority. If the launch is approved, our volunteer crew are paged and immediately drop everything to respond. This is what we call a ‘shout.’

We’ve compiled a list of all the lifeboat shouts so far this year, with as much detail as currently available. Entries are listed in reverse chronological order, so the most recent shout appears first.

Some reports are more detailed than others, and we’ll update them should more information become available.

To keep things clear and easy to browse, each shout includes:

  • A photo of the lifeboat involved
  • Time and date of the launch
  • A report of the incident, once all details have been confirmed

The final number represents the times we were paged but did not launch (DNL).
This can happen for a variety of reasons — for example, if a potential casualty self-recovers. In these cases, our crew still arrive at the station, but are stood down before either of our lifeboats enter the water

SAVE LIVES

Donate to the Exmouth Lifeboat

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. But we couldn’t save lives without you. It’s your kindness that gives our lifeboat volunteers everything they need to launch to the rescue. You are behind every family reunited, every child educated, and every tragedy prevented.
