At 17.10hrs, our Coxswain, Steve Hockings-Thompson, was working in his day job as Exmouth’s Harbourmaster when saw a kitesurfer who had become tangled in a mooring in Shelly Gut whilst. He called H.M. Coastguard and our ILB was launched. Our crew arrived on scene very quickly and established that the kitesurfer had managed to self-rescue and was safely ashore.
Our crew collected the kitesurfer from the shore and supported him while untangle the kit. Surfer and kit were both delivered safely back to shore before the crew returned to the station at 5.30pm.
