At 15.48hrs, our crews received a request to launch in response to  concerns having been raised about a paddleboarder thought to be in difficulty east of Budleigh Salterton beach. Our ILB launched 7 minutes later and arrived on scene at 16.20hrs. Our crew checked all the water users in the area but none were found to be in difficulty so the crew were stood down. Challenging tides and windy conditions meant that the crew’s journey back to the station was a slow one, eventually arriving at 17.24hrs.

In this case, the call out was classified as a false alarm with good intent.
