At 20:48hrs HM Coastguard requested the launch of Exmouth RNLI’s relief D-class inshore lifeboat, to a broken down inflatable 

HM Coastguard requested the launch of our inshore lifeboat, RNLI relief lifeboat D-887 Dorothy and Katherine Barr lll, to assist. The lifeboat was quickly launched and made best speed to the reported area. The volunteer crew quickly located the casualties who had suffered engine failure and drifted downstream towards Dawlish Warren. The volunteer lifeboat crew quickly assessed the casualties who were cold and wet from prolonged exposure. The casualties and vessel were recovered to Exmouth marina where they  were handed over to the Coastguard Rescue Team. Once all the casualties had been accounted for the lifeboat was stood down, returned to station and made ready for the next shout
