At 09:15hrs, HM Coastguard requested the launch of both boats to a report of a missing swimmer off Budleigh.
Four swimmers had entered the water, but one chose to venture further out than the others. Fortunately, the missing swimmer made their own way safely back to shore, and the incident was classified as a false alarm with good intent.
Both boats returned to the boathouse, where they were washed down and refuelled, ready for the next tasking.
A big thank you to everyone — including the dogs — on the beach who kept a sensible distance from the boats, allowing us to recover both vessels safely.
