HM Coastguard requested the  launch of Exmouth’s relief inshore lifeboat, D-887 Dorothy and Katherine Barr lll, to assist a boat which had ran aground of Dawlish Warren.

The volunteer lifeboat crew quickly launched and located the boat with one person on board which was promptly refloated and escorted to a mooring in the Exe estuary. The person on board was taken to Exmouth Marina.

The lifeboat was then stood down and returned to station where it was washed down, refuelled and made ready for the next shout.
