On Thursday, May 28th at 17:40hrs HM Coastguard requested the launch or our ILB to assist a paraglider

HM Coastguard were alerted to a person with a paraglider jumping off Orcombe Point and not taking off. The Coastguard Rescue Team attended the reported location and requested the Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, to perform a search in the waters just below.

The volunteers lifeboat crew quickly launched and made best speed to the location provided by the coastguard where the paraglider was spotted on the cliff face.The lifeboat crew persuaded the paraglider to climb down the cliff face and recovered them into the lifeboat.Once the casualty was on board they were returned safely to the lifeboat stationed handed over to the Coastguard Rescue Team.
