Gertrude was paid for from the legacy of Lady Struther of London

Previously served as the Holy Island Lifeboat until that station closed.

After Exmouth, it was based in Sheerness, and became part of the RNLI Relief Fleet.

When sold by the RNLI, Gertrude became a pleasure craft in Mevagissey, Cornwall.
