Jurassic Coast Fundraisers visit Exmouth RNLI

Three fundraising Jurassic Coast walkers were fortunate to encounter a lifeboat shout when they visited Exmouth RNLI on stage 10 of their walk in October 2015. Jackie and Robert Hunt along with Will Andrews were walking the 95 mile length of the Jurassic Coast to raise money for the RNLI and MS charities.

The three intrepid hikers began their walk along the Jurassic Coast in Spring 2015, breaking the 95 miles into stages, starting at Old Harry’s rocks in Poole and taking in the stunning scenery of the coastline as they walked. They visited RNLI lifeboat stations and lifeguards along the route.

They were warmly greeted at Exmouth RNLI by the shop volunteers and learnt about the Shannon class, R and J Welburn, within minutes of their arrival the pagers went off for a shout!, They watched the crew volunteers in action  go to the aide of a jet ski in difficulty, the inshore lifeboat, George Bearman, launched to assist. RNLI shore crew and the remaining crew volunteers, were more than happy to show Jackie, Will and Robert Exmouth’s RNLI Shannon class lifeboat, R and J Welburn, before they headed off on the next stage of their journey.
