In one 24-hour period starting on Saturday 10 August 2025, Exmouth RNLI were paged three times.  The pagers first sounded at 05.24 on Saturday; again at 20.29, with the third call coming at 1.17 on Sunday morning.  On each occasion your Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew rushed to the station, ready to save lives at sea.

Each time, the D-class inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II,  was tasked.  In two of the incidents, the crew were stood down before launch.  The third shout required the D-class to attend a reported dinghy capsize at Exton.  On scene, no dinghy was found and two people were found safely on shore, so the volunteer crew returned to the station to wash down and refuel, ready for the next shout.

This very weekend in 2024 was the busiest of last year with the RNLI documenting 105 lifeboat launches and 632 lifeguard incidents, helping a total of 1228 people!  The same weekend this year has proved very busy for our Exmouth RNLI volunteer crews and serves as a reminder that when the pager goes, we go!  (Day or night and even if the lifeboats do not always launch!)
