On Sunday 11 October 2026, the pagers sounded for our volunteer lifeboat crew to a tasking from HM Coastguard to assist Devon & Cornwall Police.
The tasking requested the launch of our inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, which was quickly launched, followed by a request to launch our all weather lifeboat, R & J Welburn, due to the choppy sea conditions. Shortly after launching the inshore lifeboat and with our all weather lifeboat at the waters edge about to launch, both lifeboats were stood down.
The lifeboats returned to the station to be washed down and made ready for the next shout.
