Volunteers of Exmouth RNLI heard their the pagers sounding on Tuesday 11 August at 22:20hrs to reports from H.M. Coastguard of 2 boats aground on Bull Hill sand bank in the River Exe.
Our inshore, D- class lifeboat, George Bearman II, was quickly launched into a slight swell and light winds with three volunteer crew on board and made best speed to the reported location.
Upon arrival they located the two casualty vessels with 2 persons on board one vessel and 1 person on board the other. The casualty vessels were secured by their anchors and the casualties were then taken on board the lifeboat and brought back to Exmouth marina into the care of the Coastguard Rescue Team..
The Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat crew returned to the station to prepare the lifeboat for the next tasking.
