Thursday, 14 May 2026, at approximately 20:52hrs HM Coastguard requested the launch of Exmouth RNLI’s D-class lifeboat, George Bearman II, to reports of a person in the water near Exmouth recreation ground.
The volunteer lifeboat crew promptly launched and made best speed to the casualties last known location. On arrival the casualty had already self recovered to the footpath after wading through waist deep water. The lifeboat crew checked the casualty was okay before standing down and returning to station where it was washed down, fuelled and made ready for the next shout.
