At around 21.10hrs, there were reports of two paddleboarders in difficulty at Budleigh Salterton.

Exmouth Coastguard team were already on scene when both our ILB and our ALB arrived.

Our crew rescued one of the casualties who was stationary and hanging on to a buoy. The other casualty was being carried out to sea by a strong offshore breeze. Our crew used flares to illuminate the area but neither our crew nor members of the coastguard team could see the paddleboarder. After the use of more flares, the missing paddleboarder was seen, recovered and both were returned to Exmouth.

(Thanks to Exmouth Coastguard team for the report.)
