At 15:55hrs HM Coastguard tasked our ILB, Gerorge Bearman II, to investigate reports of 5 people on Pole Sands with an incoming tide.
Once the ILB was on scene, and after some Water Safety Advice was given by a crew member, the five teenagers decided to try and swim back to Exmouth Beach, followed by the ILB.
It was noted that one of the group of five was struggling against the tide, so the crew brought them aboard the lifeboat. All five were then reunited on the beach east of Mamhead Slipway and handed into the care of the Coastguard Rescue Team, who also took the opportunity to provide Water Safety Advice.
