Both boats were on exercise when the ALB was flagged down by a trimaran in difficulties. Our ALB crew assessed the situation and decided that the safest course of action was to tow the boat to a temporary mooring so that the problems could be dealt with.
Having ensured the trimaran was safely moored, our crews were asked to help a 32 foot yacht in the Exe Estuary that was reported to be taking on water. Both of our boats went to help and, once on scene, the owner of the yacht told them that the sea cock on his boat was broken. Our crew made the yacht safe by fixing the sea cock and pumping out the water.
Once that task was completed our ILB returned to the trimaran and towed it to its permanent mooring in the estuary where it had a tender moored
