HM Coastguard requested the immediate launch of Exmouth’s inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, to assist two casualties who had come off their jet ski and were being swept up the River Exe by the strong current.
The lifeboat was quickly launched and made best speed to the casualties reported location, on route the lifeboat was notified that the casualties had managed to self recover back onto the jet ski.
The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station where it was washed down and made ready for the next shout.
If you have any concerns about someone on the coast or in the water, please do call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
