HM Coastguard requested the launch of Exmouth RNLI’s D-class inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, following reports of a windsurfer who had got into difficulty and had recovered themselves to Pole Sands off Exmouth beach.
The windsurfer’s partner was watching from the beach and called the Coastguard when they saw their partner in difficulty.
The Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew quickly launched the inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, and after checking the casualty was not injured, recovered them back to Exmouth beach where their partner was waiting. The inshore lifeboat returned to the lifeboat station where it was washed down and re-fuelled, ready for the next tasking.
