At 13.20hrs HM Coastguard requested the launch of our All Weather Lifeboat 13-03 R and J Welburn to assist Teignmouth Lifeboat
Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew sounded to a tasking from H.M. Coastguard.
Our All Weather Shannon class lifeboat was launched into rough seas with almost 3.5 metre swells to support our colleagues at RNLI Teignmouth who had already been tasked to a swimmer in difficulty off Teignmouth beach.
The Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew made best speed towards Teignmouth in force 7 winds but were stood down before reaching the incident as, thankfully, the casualty had been successfully brought aboard the RNLI Teignmouth lifeboat.
The Shannon lifeboat returned to the lifeboat station where she was washed down and refuelled and made ready for the next call of the pagers.
