At 16.29hrs, the pagers sounded following a request from H.M. Coastguard to reports of a paddleboarder in difficulty at the east end of Budleigh Salterton beach.
The volunteer crew of three launched our inshore lifeboat, George Bearman II, shortly after, arriving on scene at 4.55pm. The casualty was located safe and sound on Budleigh beach so the D-class was stood down and returned to the lifeboat station to ready itself for the next shout.
