Discover the Welly Trail Adventure

Embark on a fun-filled journey with the Welly Trail, where each step brings you closer to learning about the evolving nature of our Boats and their life-saving missions.

The Exmouth RNLI Welly Trail

a walk for people of ALL ages

The Welly Trail has been extended to 17 stops this year, stretching from the Town Centre to the Marina and along the Seafront. It is mostly level with just one small incline, but you don’t have to complete it in one day. You can start where you like and take as much time as you like. Perhaps over a number days or weekends, it is up to you.

As you stroll along the trail, you’ll not only enjoy Exmouth’s picturesque scenery but also embark on a journey through the history of our lifeboats. From the earliest lifeboat in 1803 to our current All Weather Lifeboat, R and J Welburn (operational number 13-03), discovering the evolution of these remarkable vessels over the past 200+ years.

Our All Weather Boat, the R and J Welburn, is the 7th in the RNLI’s Launch A Memory fundraising campaign. This is why we have chosen Exmouth’s lifeboats to be the focus of this year’s trail, dedicated to celebrating the lifeboats that have saved countless lives at sea over more than two centuries

Engage with the interactive displays that bring history to life, making each step a blend of adventure and education. As you uncover each Yellow Welly, you’ll discover the overiding spirit that drives the RNLI.

We have provided the most accurate information you will find about our lifesaving boats. However, if you have any additional details or insights to share, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us on welly@exmouthlifeboat.org.uk
