  • Caroline Finch saved 7 lives in two dramatic rescues during final sea trials before officially being commissioned. This was the first Exmouth Lifeboat to have an Operational number – 33- 06. 

     33 is the length of the boat in feet

    06 shows it was the 6th Brede Class boat to be built.

    Caroline Finch was much more powerful, making it the fastest Lifeboat along our stretch of coast.

    After leaving Exmouth, the RNLI sold Caroline Finch.  She was renamed ‘South Star’ and continued to be a Lifeboat in Hermanus, South Africa.
