Exmouth RNLI marks retirement of volunteer

Exmouth RNLI lifeboat station marked the occasion of one of their volunteer retiring with a BBQ and presentation at the boathouse on Friday 5 August 2011.

Volunteer Don Hodgkinson has stepped down after 10 years as a Deputy Launching Authority. Don is currently the Chairman of the Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton Lifeboat Guild and will still be involved around the station, especially as he has volunteered to be Boathouse Manager.Don received a framed picture of the lifeboat station’s Mersey class all weather lifeboat, 12-21 Margaret Jean, captured in front of the new lifeboat station by volunteer lifeboat crewman Steve Satchell.

RNLI Coxswain, Tim Mock who made the presentation said that, ‘Many years of service have been put in and we are truly grateful of Don’s contribution and dedication to the service.’
