Local artist donates work for Exmouth RNLI to auction

Exmouth artist, Mark Loman has kindly donated an oil painting of the charity’s Lifeguard hut to help boost funds at the Exmouth Lifeboat Ball, which takes place on October 4.

Mark painted The Lookout, a 16 x 12” framed oil from sketches he worked on ‘plein air’ on Exmouth beach last year, preferring to work outside as the light is so much brighter. Mark explains why he is supporting the event;

‘I’ve lived around Exmouth all my life and it’s a charity that is so important for us to support. The volunteers look after us locals and tourists all year round without getting paid!’

This original painting will be one of the lots in the auction held at the Exmouth Lifeboat Ball later this year. Local MP and professional auctioneer, Hugo Swire MP has been invited to host the auction and the event committee is looking for more suitable auction lots. Please contact Paul Fox with ideas by emailing him at paul@constructivecoaching.com.

The black tie event is being organised by Crew volunteers and their wives. Tickets went on sale to the public on 1 July and although have sold out due to huge support in the community, names can still be added to the reserve list.
