Saving Lives.....

Everytime we get ‘paged’, we go………

Proudly serving Exmouth, and the wider community

When someone dials 999 and the Coastguard determines that a lifeboat is needed, they contact our station’s Launch Authority. If the launch is approved, our volunteer crew are paged and immediately drop everything to respond. This is what we call a ‘shout.’

We’ve compiled a list of all the lifeboat shouts so far this year, with as much detail as currently available. Entries are listed in reverse chronological order, so the most recent shout appears first.

Some reports are more detailed than others, and we’ll update them should more information become available.

To keep things clear and easy to browse, each shout includes:

  • The date of the launch
  • A report of the incident
  • A photo of the lifeboat involved

The final number represents the times we were paged but did not launch (DNL).
This can happen for a variety of reasons — for example, if a potential casualty self-recovers. In these cases, our crew still arrive at the station, but are stood down before either of our lifeboats are launched.
