When someone dials 999 and the coastguard decides a lifeboat is needed, they call our station’s Launch Authority. If the launch is approved, the crew’s pagers go off and our volunteer crew drop everything to respond. That is what we call a ‘shout.’
We’ve compiled a list of all the lifeboat shouts so far this year, with as much detail as available. Each entry is listed in reverse chronological order, so the most recent shout appears at the top.
To keep things clear and easy to browse, each shout will include:
The date of the launch, the report and a picture of the the lifeboat involved.
Some reports are more detailed than others, and we will update them should more information become available.
