Exmouth and Torbay lifeboat crews continue search for missing fisherman

RNLI lifeboat crews from Torbay and Exmouth have this morning resumed their search for a missing crew member of a fishing boat which capsized yesterday (11 September 2012), two-and-a-half miles off Berry Head.

The two lifeboats were launched at around 11.30am yesterday to the incident. They returned to station last night when the light faded, but launched again this morning around 8.30am.

Two of the trawler’s crew were retrieved by a nearby fishing boat and transferred back to shore. Torbay and Exmouth all-weather lifeboats are currently on scene assisting in a major search for the third crew member of the vessel, which is being coordinated by Brixham Coastguard.

The search was called off at approximately 1pm with no sightings.
