Exmouth RNLI receive donation on behalf of Little Otters

A number of children and parents from Little Otters Pre-School in East Budleigh visited the lifeboat station on the morning of 4 July with a donation. This followed a visit to their pre-school in May from volunteer crew member David Preece.

After the visit and talk on lifeboats and beach safety by David, some of the children decided to hold a cake sale to raise money for the charity that saves lives at sea. Parents and helpers gave extra donations to make up a total of £37.

During their visit to the boathouse, the children met Coxswain Mechanic Tim Mock and handed over the money. Lifeboat Visits Officer, Carol Ashman showed them around the lifeboat station so they could see for themselves the equipment the RNLI use for saving lives at sea.

Fiona Hogan accompanied her son, Matthew on the visit. She said;

‘Matthew and his friends were so delighted to be invited to the station following their sake stall. From the size of the dry suits hanging up, I think they were a bit concerned that the lifeboat crew are actually giants. They looking forward to the Open Day on August 25, when they can return and maybe even board the lifeboat!’
